... a Bush family reunion.

Oh, and we got our latest product Christened.

Conversely, the weather was horrible with a nor'easter that dropped 12" of rain on Smithfield, VA (yes, where they make the hams) which is just across the James River from our shipyard.

You get a chance to kick some rivets into this new carrier LR?

I've walked many a mile on this new one, giving tours to explain shipbuilding processes to newbies (to some oldies, too). The last time I actually did manual labor to help build one was in 1981 aboard the USS Carl Vinson ... and she's back in our yard for refueling (BTW, refueling takes about 4 year to process). It's been interesting to go aboard her and see the stuff I installed 25 years ago, and knowing it will still be in operation another 25 years from now. Been aboard every Nimitz Class carrier in the fleet.

My current duties deal with the next generation of aircraft carrier. Rivets? I've been aboard a few riveted ships.

Ken,

How exciting! I didn't know the event was taking place until I saw live coverage on CNN when I was at a store that had it on TV on Saturday.

Four years to refuel--you must enlighten me. I never thought about refueling a nuclear reactor. How does that work? Man that is a long time to keep a ship offline!

About all I can say is safety is of the utmost concern, and there are a lot of procedures to follow.

I've decided that Xochi was in cahoots with the gas stations to rid me of my bank account. I still and love her.
