I was leaving for work around 6am yesterday. I heard music playing outside, and figured it was our retard neighbors coming home late from partying. Walked out to find the lights on inside my 2k Limited EX and the stereo bumping! Someone jammed a screwdriver in my driver doorlock and broke the lock off the handle and unlocking the vehicle. They then pulled my igntion with a dent puller and tried starting it with a screwdriver. Luckily the PATS system worked and the vehicle did not start, so they split and left the accesories on. They pulled out the change holder in my console, but nothing was taken at all. I had several CD's in the console and it was full of change. I have a couple of subs and and amp in the back too. I guess they wanted the whole thing! So I replaced the ignition switch with a new one, and I went to the salvage yard and bought 2 rear outer door handles. I'm getting them painted then I'm putting them on the front doors and getting rid of the outside locks altogether. There has been a rash of Superduty thefts here in Albuquerque in the last few weeks. I guess I'll be adding another alarm just to keep everything else safe from theft too.

Our X was broken into with the same method(screwdriver in the lock cylinder) but all they was interested in was the stereo deck. Didn't even touch the laptop, police radio and satellite radio receiver.

Anyone in the East Plano area stay away from the Costco on the east side of 75,they been getting hit hard the past couple weeks(mostly Ford trucks) partly due to zero CCTV coverage and no on the ground security personel.

I disco'd the connecting rod in the doors going to the lock cylinders but we're going to do the same thing by installing keyless rear door handles after we get the Viper installed.

How are you going to unlock the doors with a dead battery?

Yep I've had mine broken into by them breaking out the locks. This time they decided to smash out the passanger window. Heres what I found last month.

They made off with quite a lot this time.

I presume you were nowhere nearby when they broke in. Your alarm notifies you via a remote page, right? Or did the alarm not go off? Looks like a mess!!

Yep and I guess the alarm went off the whole time After awhile it had reset it self and thats when we came out.

The trucks going through a complete overhaul after this. It's even going to be bulletproof.

It's sad to find products that would keep you from losing everything after you have lost everything

Bill,we have a full blown 2-way system going in our Excursion hopefully in the next month or two.

I'd consider the 2-way with all the $$$ you have invested

The 2 way I have was all the rage about 4 years ago It's not as good as the ones now a days. So the range is limited. I am going to upgrade the alarm and add a few things.

The first thing I'm going to add is a mobile DVR like this one
http://www.anextek.com/products/MD_108.htm

I'm also going to ues a security film on all the windows from this place. The 300 series
http://www.acesecuritylaminates.com/

Then I'm going to add an old school fire alarm bell to the alarm. It may not be any louder but at least people might look over at my alarm going off if it sounds like a bank robbery in progress.

Now if I could get away with shooting fire balls out from under the truck when it goes off I would be set

I still have a Viper alarm with the 2-way remote. It seems a bit primitive and the remote/keyfob is HUGE. I assume there's better stuff on the market now but have no idea...what are you looking to get in terms of an alarm system?

Now that stuff looks cool. Anything that lists this as what it protects from:

- Hurricane resistant – small and large missile
- Bomb blast protection
- Small arms fire resistance

...is worth having!! How pricey is it going to be for all of the windows on the X?
