I have an '05 X 6.0L LTD. Frequently when I start it, none of the accessories will work (radio, power windows, etc.) after 30 seconds, sometimes longer, I hear a small "click" and then everthing comes on. The Ford dealer can not duplicate the problem, so I was hoping there might be some tips out there. I am assuming it is the same relay that allows everything to stay working after the key is turned off. Any suggestions?

If I had to guess, I'd say it's the GEM ... General Electrical/Electronics Module. It controls and monitors most everything not related to engine/transmission management, and I mean EVERYTHING. Do your parking or headlights work during such outages? How about interior lights when opening/closing the door during this type of outage? If not, then again I would suspect the GEM.

I have this same problem in my '00 PSD X. I had always attributed it to my aftermarket alarm. The delay seems variable, but it is a considerable wait before power windows work. I took hear the click. My radio does however work (again, aftermarket). It should be noted that when I turn the key back (to accessories position?), that none of my accessories work. I have to turn the key forward to the point where the glow plugs are engaged.
