Here is some pics of my install
V code Pictures
I have not had time to put captions on them yet, so I guess you'll have to use your imagination.
The reason this method was chosen was that I wanted to have Factory fog lights and still have a front hitch. Curt made a front hitch that went under the skirt for the 2003 and previous years. Ford changed the blockerbeam and front springhanger design in 2004, and so I bought the parts and basically turned the front hangers and blocker beam into a 2003. It all bolted up without a problem.
Now to install the fog lights. Another story.
Hope you enjoy.

Nice job. I too want to do the front hitch and do away with the factory tow hooks (and put fog lights in their place). I like the Hidden Hitch application. It would block the OEM trans cooler so I also have an aftermarket trans cooler that I will install this spring. Right now tranny temps are just fine...the NC summers are a killer on the trans so far. Much different climate down here compared to MN.
Blocker beam is definitely different on yours compared to my '00. Interesting.

I was very sore the next day after installing my V-codes. Laid on the couch, drank beer, and watched football.

I hear ya! It hurts!
I did the V codes and front on Saturday and the modified B codes on Sunday. Nobody around to help. Then, after I got the rear spring packs assembled and the axles on, a friend showed up to put the rear tires on. (after all the real work, of course)
Monday I did the same thing as you, just with Ibuprofen instead of beer. (wish I could drink beer)
All I got to say is thank God for air tools and a come-a-long!
Age DO tell !!!
By the way, I have some captions up now on the pics. |

I've decided that Xochi was in cahoots with the gas stations to rid me of my bank account. I still and love her.
