Hi I've just recently picked up a 2000 excursion v10 to have as a second car, it has about 100000 miles on. Anyway after going over all the threads here, have some questions. First once I found a how to on replacing the door sensors switches now I can't find it for nothing, Second Does anybody have the bulb replacement number for the map lights over the driver. Mines missing the bulbs I'm sure do to the door ajar that I fixed at least temporarily with silcone. I had the ball joints replaced but I still have a pretty good rattle underneath and ideas where to start checking. Thanks for any help like I said I've searched and found most of my answers but still need a little help, PS what seems to be the normal on V10 gas mileage. Thank Terry

WELCOME to the X-Files!

Here's one thread ..
http://www.supermotors.net/clubs/fordexcursions/forums/thid-6084-door-ajar?&highlight=door%20ajar&page=1&rpp=10

I entered the words "door ajar" in the search field above and found many threads on this subject.

Rattles: Sway bar bushing or shock bushings

Normal V10 mileage: 12-14 highway 9-11 city

Lights? no idea. Pull the other one out and get the numbers from it. Or see if the manual lists it.

Thanks,, It was sway bar bushings, Any idea of good place to get these. Doesn't look to hard to change. The dome light doesn't have any it to pull from, guessing the previous owner had the door ajar problem and just pulled them. Thanks on the door sensors too.

welcome to the site. Remember, you didn't buy the X for mileage! You bought it to rule the road.

Energy Suspension sells premium bushings for our trucks.

Did the manual not list the bulb number? (I didn't check mine...sorry. ) Maybe that little bulb selector thing at Wal-Mart will point you in the right direction.
