Folks,

I received a letter from Ford this week with regards to revised jack/stowage instructions that includes revisions to the recommended wheel nut torque specs.

I'm not sure what they were before, but the correct lug nut torque spec is:

150-165 ft-lbs

Thought I'd pass this along in case you didn't receive it!

Eric, was that for the gas Excursions or the 4x4's? Since they use difefrent hubs, I would guess the torque specs are different?

Gas Excursions have different hubs than PSD Excursions?? huh?

The TRQ spec is for all Super Duty based trucks with 8x170mm bolt pattern. Dually's may differ but that doesn't really matter to us.

They all use the same hubs. The only difference between gas and diesel Excursions on the frontend will be the shock size and leaf springs. Everything else is the same. That said, the torque specs apply to all Excursions (as well as SuperDuty's as mentioned above by Monsta).

I just checked my manual for the 2002 (Downloaded from the MyFord site) and it shows 150 - 165 lb-ft. I was just given a 2001 manual that is out in the truck. Will check it to see if it was different. The dealer couldn't seem to come through with a 2002 manual, so gave me a 2001 and said there were no differences. At least I can compare with the downloaded version. I just wanted the small one that would fit in the glovebox instead of this huge 272 duplex page pdf download that is in a full size binder.
