Superlift has a new "Select Series" lift system out for the Excursion - the "smallest" one lifts the front 3" and the rear 1.5", thereby giving the X a level appearance ......anyone know about/have experience with these systems?

I've been unable to locate any "U" code front springs, so I'm considering the 3"/1.5" lift.....It's a whole lot cheaper than "The Edge" system, and you get entirely new front springs, rather than reusing the original ones........Any advice?

Thanks,

dnp

I just installed this "kit" on my 2003 6.0L with a minor modification. I do not like the "leveling" effect so I ordered 3" blocks for the back to keep the "nose down" attitude. I just finished it this morning before work and will have the alignment done tommorow. Still trying to figure out what tires I should put on, as I am not changing the rims right now.

I am hoping 315/75/16's or 315/70/16's will fit.

Anyone have experience on what tire will fit a 3" lift with the stock aluminum rims?

How much was this kit, if you don't mind me asking? Did all it include was new front springs and new rear blocks?

AZE -- You'll need wider rims to run 315s. I've got 305-70R-16(E) on Panther 16x8 rims ... and that was the most narrow rim specified for that tire. Your stock rims are 16x7. BTW, no lift to run my 305s, and only minimal rubbing on the plastic fenderwell splash panel when at full-tilt AND hitting a bump.

You are right regarding the rim size. I picked up BF Goodrich All Terrain TA KO tires on MB Motoring 16x8 Rocker wheels. The 305's looked way too small on the truck after the lift. The tires barely rub the lower plastic splash panel. I figure 3/8" spacers between the bumper and the mounting frame should push the bumper far enough forward to take care of the issue.

I don't mind at all

The kit came with front spings, front and rear shocks, ubolts, rear spacers, and a front track bar bracket. The kit was 580.00 plus shipping.

Please take some pics when you get a chance, I'd like to see what the lift looks like afterwards. You can setup a registry on SuperMotors to post pictures: http://www.supermotors.org/mygarage/vehicles/aevehicle.php
