Chris,

Welcome to SuperFord.org. While I'm not an expert on 1991 Crown Vic's, my guess is that it is a 302 or 351 in which case you won't need to remove the intake to replace the valve cover gaskets. Valve covers typically have 5 bolts holding them on...simply unbolt and lift the covers off.

Make sure to get rubber gaskets or if you can't find those, get a rubber/cork combo. Then they'll be reusable. Otherwise if you go with 100% cork, they will become grooved by the valve covers after you inititally tighten them and you won't be able to reuse them.

Good luck.

Sorry, but you WILL have to remove the intake upper....the upper log almost completely covers the passenger side valve cover, and also hinders the driver's side removal...so, you will also need to get a upper intake gasket to add to your parts list.
