1964 Ford Fairlane “Desire”
About the 1962–1965 Ford Fairlane
The 1962–1965 Ford Fairlane shows up here in all stages of life — from a sharp red '64 coupe still wearing its chrome trim to project cars with empty engine bays and serious rust, plus garage builds caught mid-restoration with bare body panels. The Fairlane (1962-1965) community on SuperMotors captures these midsize Fords exactly as owners find and build them, whether it's a clean black coupe sitting in a yard or a stripped shell riding on a trailer headed for a second chance.
The story
i bought the car from a friend who neglated it a little bit, he has a 2dr. T-bolt clone. I helped paint it with him about 2 years ago... then he parked it, so i bought it for $1800 ripped the bench seat out and put '85 LTD seats in it, some aftermarket gauges, crager ss rims "which i hate now" but i have more plans for it i have another 260 which is a little beefy and 289 heads, and as soon as i find a bellhousing im gonna put a C-4 w/ shift kit and manual valve body.. i also have a 3.55 chunk, so it should be a little quicker.. but it is a 4dr. so it's my crusier, im saving the speed for my 64 falcon 2dr. hardtop, plans include so far a 347 stroker, 9" rearend 4.11 posi, and t-10 4speed.. buts theres alot of work left too — Vinnie Dalucci
