Tranny vibration

My 93 has the 351W with the E4-OD. I'm getting a serious vibration between 3rd and overdrive. It's getting worse and i'm thinking i might have to rebuild. What might be causing this? Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you sure it´s not vibrating from the wheels?
If so the wheels may be needed to be rebalanced, or if you have been mudding it may have sstuck mud on the inside of the wheels, just wash off and youre Bronco´s as new

I wish it was just the wheels. A little more detail on the problem is that when i've got the throttle slammed it doesn't vibrate. Only when i'm accelerating at a normal or slightly faster than normal pace and the vibration is at different speeds as well. It shifts fine through first second and third but has a strong vibration between third and O/D. Appreciate the response though.

Hey Don, I had a 94 Thunderbird. It was the V8 with the E4-OD tranny. I had the same problem with it, I think. You are getting a vibration as the trans is in the process of shifting from 3rd into 4th. As soon as it hits 4th gear, the vibration quits, am I right? I ended up having to replace the torqe-converter. I thought the same as you when I first ran into that prob. You might go to your local Ford dealer and ask them if they have a "service bulliten" for that problem and see if it is the same as what I ran into.

Your right! My tranny is doing exactly that. I talked to a local transmission specialist shop and i've got to say i think they now their stuff. Before i could finish explaining to them they already told me exactly what the truck was doing. They also said converter replacement was the way to fix it. I'm going to give it a try. Thanks again. Don,

If the vibration comes from the tranny, that's pretty much always the problem. The new converter will fix it!

After the converter maybe a lift and wheels? :0 That tranny wouldn't vibrate so much if it wasn't dragging the ground!!
