No 3rd gear!

Took it out fixed the leak and put it back in. Now I can't get it to shift into 3rd gear. I torqued the band adjuster to 10flbs and backed off 1 1/2 turns. No Third. Should I tighten the adjuster or loosen it to try and get it to shift into 3rd gear? 78 Bronco XLT 400/C6/NP205 D44 8 Lug front(open) Sterling 10.25" rear(welded) 4" Suspension/3" Body 38x13x16 Super Swamper TSL's
