I am fixing to purchase a set of 35x12.50x15 tires for my f-150. I want good off road performance while still getting good tread life. I am debating between BFGoodrich AT's & their MT's. I know I will get better tread life w/ the ats but I would like to have the mts because of performance. Does anyone know how much life I could get out of the mts when most of the driving is on pavement. I dont off road a lot but when I do I do it good.

I had a set of mud terrains on my Bronco and because they were radials, they wore quite well. My Bronco was my daily driver at the time and I maybe would offroad once a month. If you do any type of wheeling in the mud, I would highly recommend mud terrains. If you're more into rock crawling, then AT's will suit you qutie well...but the AT's definitely gum up compared to the mud terrains.

I'd go for the mud terrains.

I have the new MT's on my Bronco
20000 miles, 70% tread, I'm using for city driving and muddin
They throw weights like crazy because of the lip they have to
protect the rims. Get the lead stick-on weights if you get these
tires. The road noise is pretty quiet and they kick a** for muddin
I can't speek for the AT's cause I've never had them. But, the MT's
have really impressed me offroad, They clean very well in the sticky
stuff even at lower speed, and the new side lugs scratch their way out
of a lot more then the older style MT's.
Buy'em you won't be disappointed.

I had them on my Bronco and liked them. A little louder than the AT (which I have also run). I got about 35K miles out of them. Not bad. I beat them up pretty hard 4wheeling too. Also if you have a straight axle you should get better wear because the TTB's are notorious for eating tires.
