Something changed today, and I assume it was at SMN since I didn't do anything to my computer. Whatever it was, it has [b]WRECKED[/b] the formatting in the captions of my pics. It's like all the carriage returns are being ignored, making the whole caption one continuous line of text (with line wrap); and the markup is also being ignored - thumbnails & text formatting are gone.

Can someone BAN robert968 and delete all his spam threads?

My developer is going to fix this immediately, this was an error in our QA process probably since most captions were just plain text.

Thanks. Is he aware of the logout issue, too? Every time I check this thread, I have to log in again.

And what about all the spam threads, when you have time?

There's also a serious problem with the way album thumbnails are (dis)organized.

Note that, immediately after any thumb that's not "normal" proportions (landscape 4:3), there's an extra partial row of thumbs.

And I really don't like the paged album. Can that be either turned off completely, disabled just for my registries, or made user-selectable?

I just wrote a long reply, and it got dumped for several "unknown errors".

I don't like anything I'm finding about the new layout. Too much functionality has been deleted.

There's a lot of chatter on the discussion forums about people leaving SMN, and NONE about people liking the new layout.

OK everyone we did fix a lot of these issues working through the night but in the end decided to revert back to the old site, I think before we take the new site live again with the layout updated to match the current site as much as possible we will put out a public beta site for everyone to look at for a few weeks and make sure we have everyone's signoff on it. I really want to do what is best for the community so I appreciate everyone's patience.

Thanks for reverting until the new layout is more-complete.

One other LITTLE thing I just remembered: I occasionally use numbered lists in my captions, or part numbers in parentheses, and "8" followed by ")" is always interpreted as the sunglasses smiley.

I don't want to eliminate ALL smilies, but can this one be reformatted? Maybe to 8-) just to distinguish it. Or maybe to SPACE-EIGHT-CLOSEPARENTHESIS ; anything to allow other uses without disabling other smilies.
