The story
saved from the 'dead', i bought this car via ebay. made the trek from northfield, ohio to kentucky and found this '67 parked in the dirt, no wheels, no interior other than the back seat, windows off track in the doors, with the owners kids using it as a club house. work began immediately upon it's arrival home. a full tear down and removal of engine and trans, rebuilt all the front suspension, upgrading to GTO components to carry the big block. the steering is a trans-am column, fronts disks added. the interior, being there was none was a clean slate for customizing. i stripped and redid the floor panels then took out the dash, and created my own from diamond plate adding new autometer guages, gutted all the original wiring and ran all new painless wiring simplifying the dash controls to toggles. [very time consuming!] i then rebuilt the engine and trans after having the heads redone, ported and polished and planed, the block was bored and decked and dipped.
i then put it back together, and drove it for a summer in primer. then that fall it was off to paint, i then decided to make the car "my own" by tagging it "455 GTO" on front including the GTO grilles and lights, but keeping it lemans in back. THIS IS NOT A CLONE! and it makes for great conversation at shows. the color scheme is dark cherry, with medium storm grey stripes, both metallic. of course these cars are never done, but i created this one off to reflect my personality, purists don't "get it" but who cares, it's mine! — umpfum
