I rebuilt the engine and stroked it out to 349ci (347 kit but .040 over instead of .030) with Forged Rods, Skirt Coated Hyper Pistons, Nodular Crank, Main Girdle, Windage Tray, and 7.5 Qt. Canton Oil Pan
CNC Ported and Polished Powerheads with oversized valves, Ford Racing E-Cam with 1.72 roller rockers, Hand Ported and Polished Typhoon Intake, 75mm Throttle Body and Mass Air Meter, 30lb Injectors, BBK Headers, Bassani Off-Road X-Pipe, Flowmaster Delta Flow 50 Series Mufflers |

I custom swapped in T5 Manual Tranny (all 88 Cougars came with AOD Automatic) with Spec Stage 2 Clutch and Hurst Short Throw Shifter
I rebuilt the rear end with 4.10 gears and modified the clutch packs in the Traction-Lok with 2 extra clutches and shimmed it as tight as humanly possible. |

When I say that I did the stuff above I mean it. I actually did all the wrench work on it, not paid somebody else to do it. I'm an ASE Master Certified Tech (although I don't work in that field anymore). |
