“Gertrude”1960 Ford Starliner

The story

This car was bought new by a NASA Engineer from FL. It was picked up at a Ford dealership in Lee, NJ. At 37K miles he started total disassembly of the car for restoration (???). He labeled each part as they were removed and boxed them. He passed away before he could get the car totally disassembled & the car sat for years before it was sold to a body shop in NC where it has also sat for several years without touching it. Luckily it has been inside or covered all this time & the body is RUSTFREE!!!!! Car still has original paint, interior, etc.... CORRECTION::: I did find some rust areas in the trunk floor section ONLY!!!
Current plans are to keep all the original parts & do a frame-off restoration on the car & install a 428 CJ with a C-6, Vintage air, intregal p/stg, 4 whl disc's & a 3.25 TL. Probably go back Red, Black or Burgundy. Will flip a coin to see......... — Rick Toombs
