1998 Mercury Grand Marquis “The Wub Wagon”
About the 1998–2011 Mercury Grand Marquis
The Mercury Grand Marquis (1998-2011) is a full-size, rear-wheel-drive sedan built on Ford's body-on-frame Panther platform and sold only as a four-door sedan. Every year used the 4.6 liter SOHC modular V8 paired with a four-speed automatic, and the car shared its platform with the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car. The 1998 revision brought a restyled body while the steering stayed recirculating-ball, the 2003 update introduced a revised hydroformed frame together with rack-and-pinion steering, and production ended at St. Thomas Assembly in Ontario, Canada on January 4, 2011.
The story
Bought it in Dawson creek, about an hour away from Fort St. John, off of an elderly retired couple.
Painted all of the chrome on the car except the window trim, and hub caps black. Painted the door handles body colour.
Installed a deck lid off of a 2003 CVPI, installed a brake controller, trailer wiring harness, and trailer hitch.
All new Kenwood stereo system with exception of the Amp's, which are Blade technologies with 0.01%THD. Custom sub boxes, 1000 watt power inverter, heated seats.
Also blue mood lights, HID'S from HID EXTRA, Rigid 24" lightbar behind the grille, moved the traction control switch from the glove box to the cup holders, as well as put flush mount bolt LED's under the door panels for courtesy lights. Max LED light strip under hood, and blue led light that dance too music in the trunk, etc. etc.
