1961 Ford Ranchero “THE MONEY PIT”
About the 1960–1965 Ford Ranchero
The 1960–1965 Falcon Ranchero shows up here in every stage of life — from clean white '65s on custom wheels and red '65 convertible-style builds to a '64 body getting lifted out of a junkyard by forklift, plus project cars riding flatbeds waiting for their second chance. Dig into interiors with custom gauges and floor shifters, undercarriage details, engine bays with red-accented chassis work, and classic yellow coupe utilities sitting on the grass at weekend shows.
The story
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE WHEN I WAS 12 YEARS OLD AND HAVE HAD IT EVER SINCE (I AM NOW 31). THIS CAR WAS ORIGINALLY BLACK, TOTALLY STOCK WITH 144 INLINE 6 AND A 3 ON THE TREE, NOW HAS A BUILT 302 WITH A C4, MIDNIGHT BLUE WITH 15X8 CENTERLINES ON IT. THE BODY HAS BEEN REDONE ONCE AND IS ABOUT TO BE COMPLETELY REDONE AGAIN. HOPEFULLY MY SON WILL WANT IT WHEN HE IS OLD ENOUGH TO DRIVE (IF I DECIDE TO GIVE IT UP)... — MIKE BODENBENDER
