Chevrolet Blazer

1972 Chevrolet Blazer Specs & Photos

The 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer closed out the first generation of the model, built from 1969 to 1972 on a 104 inch wheelbase with a fully removable top over both seating rows. The standard engine was the 250 cubic inch inline six with small-block V8s optional, and 4WD trucks used a Dana 44 front axle with a gear-driven transfer case, the Dana 20 behind the three-speed manual or the NP205 with the four-speed and automatic. Published horsepower dropped on paper this year because GM switched to SAE net ratings for 1972.
