The 1964 Chevrolet Impala closed out the 1961-64 generation with a squared-up restyle, and the Impala SS became its own series rather than an option package. Engines ran from the 230 inline-six through the 283 and 327 small-blocks to the 409 big-block, and the '64 later became a lowrider icon.
