Chevrolet Suburban

1947 Chevrolet Suburban Specs & Photos

The 1947 Chevrolet Suburban is a body-on-frame station wagon built on Chevrolet's light-duty truck chassis, and 1947 was the transition year in which the new Advance-Design series was introduced at midyear alongside carryover prewar-styled trucks. The Suburban Carryall used an all-steel wagon body seating up to eight, with two front doors, a curbside second-row door, and a choice of rear panel doors or a tailgate and liftgate. Power came from the 216 cubic inch (3.5L) Thriftmaster overhead-valve inline-six rated at about 90 gross horsepower, paired with a three-speed manual transmission.
