Chevrolet Suburban

1962 Chevrolet Suburban Specs & Photos

The 1962 Chevrolet Suburban belongs to the 1960-1966 C/K truck generation and rode on the half-ton C10 chassis, which in two-wheel-drive form used independent torsion-bar front suspension; 1962 was the last year for that setup before coil-spring front suspension arrived in 1963. Standard power was the 235 cubic inch (3.9L) Thriftmaster inline-six of roughly 135 gross horsepower, with the 283 cubic inch (4.6L) V8 available as an option. The Carryall wagon body could seat up to nine and was offered with a three-speed or four-speed manual or the two-speed Powerglide automatic.
