Fiat 124 Spider

1978 Fiat 124 Spider Specs & Photos

The 1978 Fiat 124 Spider belongs to the third-series (CS) generation of Fiat's Pininfarina-built two-seat convertible, which in these years was produced only for the North American market. It used a 1756 cc (1.8 L) Lampredi double-overhead-cam inline-four with a Weber carburetor, rated at about 84 hp (SAE net), paired with a five-speed manual and rear-wheel drive. The 1978 124 Spider was the final year for the 1.8 L engine and the federalized-bumper body before Fiat enlarged the engine to 1995 cc and renamed the US car the Spider 2000 for 1979.
