The 1993 Honda Prelude belonged to the fourth generation (1992-1996, BB chassis) and carried over the two-door coupe body introduced for 1992. North American trims spanned the S with a 2.2L F22A1 SOHC (133 hp), the Si with a 2.3L H23A1 DOHC non-VTEC (160 hp), and the Prelude VTEC with a 2.2L H22A1 DOHC VTEC rated 190 hp at 6,800 rpm and 158 lb-ft, the first DOHC VTEC engine in a Honda-badged US model. A five-speed manual was standard, with a four-speed automatic optional on the S and Si.
