The 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe is a second-generation (CM platform) five-door crossover SUV and a carryover of the design introduced for 2007. The 2009 Santa Fe retained the 2.7L Delta V6 rated at 185 hp (net) and 183 lb-ft on the GLS, offered with a standard five-speed manual or optional four-speed automatic, alongside the 3.3L Lambda V6 rated at 242 hp (net) and 226 lb-ft on the SE and Limited, mated to a five-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive was standard, all-wheel drive was optional, and an available third-row seat allowed seven-passenger seating. The engine and drivetrain lineup carried over largely unchanged from 2008, before the 2010 refresh introduced new four-cylinder and V6 powertrains with a six-speed automatic.
