The 2001 Lincoln Continental was the next to last model year for the nameplate, which Lincoln retired after a short 2002 run. The 4.6 liter DOHC 32-valve InTech V8 rated 275 net horsepower and its four-speed automatic transaxle carried over unchanged. The front-wheel-drive ninth generation had been in production since 1995.
