Section 2, 'In-Car Adjustments and Repairs,' begins the throttle and downshift linkage adjustment procedure: apply parking brake, warm engine (fast idle about 1200 rpm), connect a tachometer, set idle in D1 (large dot) or D2 (small dot), check dashpot plunger clearance and fast idle cam position, adjust the anti-stall dashpot per Group 8 specs, and disconnect the carburetor connecting link from the accelerator bellcrank.
