the new 10.25 Sterling swapped under it. it was originally from a 89 F250

this is a heavier full floating axle which is stronger and better for towing. it also allows the use of aftermarket differentials like lockers and limited slip. due to the truck being 2wd i may in the future swap in a Eaton TrueTrac limited slip

the original axle was 4.10 gear ratio and the new axle is 3.55 ratio. this means i loose about 15% torque but at the same time i have also gained a decent amount of fuel economy by keeping the RPMs down. i may or may not regear the axle. because this truck was going to be used for towing my Broncos on a trailer, i might regear it for 4.56 or at least back to 4.10
