got the 10.25" rebuilt. everything went pretty smoothly. want to make the truck more for towing and help take stress off the engine and transmission. because i lost 4wd with the engine/tranny swap i decided to add a TrueTrac limited slip.

the truck was originally 4.10 gearing till the original axle blew up. i swapped in a 3.55 axle because it was all i could find at the time. but now it had 4.56 gearing which should help with having an 302 engine

the axle was a short spline (pre93) and it did have a wobbling issue. i went ahread and changed to a long spline ehich required a new yoke.

the rebuild kit is all Timken bearings which is nice. i used a 9" crush sleeve eliminator which works fine on a 10.25" if its facing the correct way. there is a tapered edge that msut go against another tapered edge
