If the old hinges are too worn, they must be replaced, which requires removing the fender, fully aligning the door, aligning the fender, and aligning the hood (which requires good body mounts, and may require aligning the other fender). After ensuring the rear edge of the door aligns to the cab's body line (vertically, by adjusting the strike bolt position), remove the fender for access to the hinge bolts. Use the hinges to raise the front of the door so it aligns with the A- & B-pillars, and has a consistent gap at the top & bottom to each pillar. The latch may need to be opened to slide back or forth on the strike sleeve (which must be in good condition), but close it to the 2nd click for proper alignment. Before final tightening, pull the upper hinge forward on the cowl against the door, and push the lower back so they're pre-loaded to hold the door in that position when it's opened. Check that the door hangs in perfect alignment by seeing that the latch jaws do not touch the strike sleeve until the door is almost shut. The upper jaw should NOT touch the sleeve before the lower.
