A working speed of 15,000 rpm or more is desirable. A very smooth surface is all that is re- quired; a mirror finish is not necessary. Be very careful not to damage the valve seats while polishing; handling the grinder takes some practice. It is a good idea to lap in the valves after the port polishing has been completed.
