The 1967 Mercury Monterey was a carryover year in the 1965-1968 full-size generation, restyled at the front with a new grille and fitted with federally mandated dual-circuit brakes and an energy-absorbing steering column. The base 390 cubic inch V8 was rated at 270 hp, with the Mercury-exclusive 410 cubic inch V8 (330 hp) and 428 cubic inch V8 (345 hp) optional. Body styles included two-door and four-door hardtops, Breezeway and conventional four-door sedans, and a convertible. Transmissions were a three-speed manual, four-speed manual, and the Merc-O-Matic automatic.
