The 1989 Nissan 240SX was the first model year of the S13 generation, replacing the 200SX in Nissan's North American lineup. It used the KA24E, a 2.4L SOHC inline-four rated at 140 hp (net), driving the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic. Two body styles were offered, a notchback coupe and a fastback hatchback, both built on the S13 chassis.
