The 2007 Nissan Altima was an all-new fourth-generation model (chassis code L32) on the enlarged Nissan D platform. Its powertrains were a 2.5L QR25DE inline-four rated at 175 hp (net) and a 3.5L VQ35DE V6 rated at 270 hp (net), with a standard Xtronic CVT replacing the previous 4-speed automatic (a 6-speed manual was available). Nissan also launched the Altima Hybrid for 2007, pairing the 2.5L engine with an electric motor for a combined 198 hp, initially sold in a limited number of states.
