The 1972 Nissan Skyline spans a model change: the C10 series (nicknamed Hakosuka), built from 1968, gave way to the C110 series (nicknamed Kenmeri), introduced in September 1972. C10 cars came as 2-door coupes, 4-door sedans, and wagons, using Prince G-series 1.5L and 1.8L inline-fours on base trims and the L20 2.0L SOHC inline-six on GT models. The range-topping GT-R (KPGC10 coupe) used the S20 1,989 cc DOHC 24-valve inline-six rated at 160 PS (metric, JIS gross) with a 5-speed manual, and C10 GT-R production ended in 1972. The incoming C110 carried over L-series fours and the L20 six across coupe, sedan, and wagon body styles.
