The 2012 Subaru Impreza launched the fourth-generation GJ sedan and GP five-door with the new FB20 2.0-liter flat-four rated at 148 horsepower and 145 lb-ft. A Lineartronic continuously variable transmission joined the five-speed manual, and the 2.0i CVT earned an EPA rating of 36 mpg highway, a large gain over the outgoing 2.5-liter car. The WRX and WRX STI continued unchanged on the previous generation's body for 2012.
