The 1999 Toyota Camry is a carryover year of the fourth-generation (XV20) line built from 1997 through 2001. The sedan continued with the 2.2L 5S-FE inline-four rated at 133 hp and the 3.0L 1MZ-FE V6 rated at 194 hp, using a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic. For 1999, Toyota spun the two-door body into the separate Camry Solara, so the 1999 Camry itself was sold only as a four-door sedan. Trim levels remained CE, LE, and XLE.
