The heads of the mounting bolts were ground thinner to allow them to slide into the mounting rails.

The trunk was bolted to the slide rails with 2'x4" reinforcing sections.

The Slide Rails as Mounted. Note the rails were attached to 2"x4" sections via wood screws. 2"x4" sections were bolted to angle iron, which was bolted to the truck bed.
