I didn't notice the differences when I bought this GM door panel in the junkyard - I was just excited to have found one so perfect, and even the same year as my car.

If your gasket has to be replace (I reused mine), buy F7AZ-7086-A $3.16 at the dealership.

The difference is visible here: the original recline lever hole is there but not obvious, and I cut the switch hole a little too large. The seat covers are MUCH cleaner after having been thru the washing machine.

One of my studs had been broken somehow, but enough thread was left for the nut to be installed effectively. To replace it, the e-brakes must be removed for access.

These impeller vanes have eroded, probably due to long coolant change intervals. Not only do the steel blades CORrode from old coolant not preventing it; they also Erode due to microbubbles (cavitation) created due to the lowered boiling point.

The P71s do not have illuminated courtesy lamps in the door. So, I replaced mine with a set out of a '97 P74.

I pulled my carpet to dry it out. The passenger side is wet from the leak on the firewall at the HVAC drain. I'm also adding a connector & wiring for a power passenger seat.

I went ahead and replaced all 20 of the #194 bulbs. Twist the black sockets to remove the bulbs and then pull the bulbs from the sockets.

I used putty sealant for metal building construction that never hardens, but silicone will work as long as it sticks to the plastic, but not the rubber. Since it will run down the silicone & drip off, it's not as important for it to stick to the fir...
