Anyone tested this feature to it's fullest extent? I'm just trying to find out if my "8 Miles to empty" really means 2, 8 or 18.

Hahaha. I think the lowest I've ever taken mine was the low 20's. Without a chip, it's always been very accurate for me.

I agree....mine seems to be very accurate..It only varies about .1 gal for me...

Yes I have. I have filled up with single digits showing, and only got 41 gallons into the X. I have also hit zero a couple of times while driving to the gas station. I have also run out of diesel once, but oddly enough only got 42 gallons in it that time. I think the fact that I was going up a fairly steep hill at the time caused the fuel to run away from the pick up in the tank. Generally, I try to fill up at the 50 miles to empty mark. I agree with Eric that the computer is fairly accurate. Now, the mpg computer is somewhat optimistic, in my opinion. Mine seems to register about a half a mile per gallon higher than what I calculate in Excel. |
