I have been looking for a 2001-2002 PS Excursion hard for about almost three weeks now. It seemed every time I got close to one it sold. Well I found one on a Infitini dealer website the day they took in the trade. The the single owner just traded it in on Inifinit SUV, some $65k plus SUV. The dealer got the car on Wednesday and I stopped by to look at it yesterday. It just got done being detailed and was in the back of their lot it hasn't even put out in the front of their lot yet. It is a 2002 Excursion, Limited PS, 4x4, 40,500 miles, it doesn't have the second row bench but buckets seats like the front, dvd player, towing mirrors, running boards, towing mirrors, etc.. It is really loaded. I got to look at it with no sales guy bugging me since it was in the back outside the detail shop and it was unlocked. It is a clean car with just a few normal wear and tear on it. I found a sales man and asked him what would you sell the Excursion for, he told me straight out $31500 I thought this was a streal since I know that these are listed on KBB between $37k-$38k. I saw another Excursion just like this and the guy wouldn't budge below $33k and it didn't even have the DVD in it. So when I heard $31,500 I was like this guy doesn't know what he has. I was trying to negotiate a better deal on my trade in 2001 Ford F-150 Extended Cab Lariat. He offered me $14,500 on the trade in and I was pushing for $15k. He then had to go get approval from his manager for the higher trade in and when is manager saw he was selling the Excursion for $31,500 the manager was smoked. They have had wholesalers offering them more money for the car then the $31,500 So to make a long story short I got it for $31,500 with a trade in on my truck for $14,500 I think I got a steal of a deal. I get to pick it up this afternoon. Does anyone think that is a steal of a price or just an ok price? Also the only thing I couldn't figure out is if it has the 3.73 limited slip differential. Is there any way of figuring that out? The sales person even printed out the carfax and it came up clean. What do you think?

WOW! Killer deal.
Check the axle code on the door jamb. C1 means 3.73 Limited Slip.

I must admit I do feel as if I got an awesome deal. It has every option and in the glove box I found the original window sticketr and the MSRP was $53K plus. Everyone was telling me this weekend on a camping/concert trip that I am crazy for getting such a large vehicle. They were telling me that I like to spend too much money on gas so when I said this vehicle gets equal if not better than my 2001 F-150 4x4 extended cab that I traded in they got quiet. Of course when it came time to drive from the camp ground to the concert and it was a good 26 mile trip one way they talked me into driving. So we loaded up 8 people, popped in a DVD and we cruised in style. Everyone who rode with me was like this is an awesome car and they were all shocked that the PSD had that much pick up with that many people in the car. Now I have to becareful so I don't get nominated for every road trip from here on out. I must admit it is an awesome car and the PSD has a lot of pick up for that size car and you can't beat the diesel on price. And nobody complaind when they were all asking me hey can you take this home in your car for me because we are out of space. They weren't from ripping me on the car to loving it in just three days....

That sounds like the buy I had. I had a 2000 Cadillac Escalade with 130,000 miles. The interior looked like it had 130,000. Nothing was really wrong with it. Just starting to look real rough. KBB on the caddy was 12,500. A local lot had a 2002 PSD Excursion with 89,000 miles. Mint exterior, mint interior and they were asking 25,700. After some bickering, they gave me 14,000 trade in value and I got the excursion for 23,500. I think I came out on the deal myself. Best part was, I didnt have to have a cosigner....i got the loan myself.

HAH! I can relate. Trust me, it'll always be easier to take one vehicle rather than multiple vehicles. You will always be driving the X from here on out!!!

i bought a 2002 Excursion Limited with 18,162 miles for $17,124 out the door with my 1998 Expedition XLT as trade. From looking at the paperwork I paid $27,124 out the door for the Excursion and they gave me KBB $10,000 for my Expedition. I love it! They sell in my neck of the woods (Chicago) for $34,000. I wished I could have found a diesel (mine has the V10) but they are either beat up or too many miles or $37,000 +. I get 11-13 mpg with my V10. That's okay with me. It beats the 9-10 I got with my 4.,6 Expedition.

I love my Excrusion a lot. The only place the dealer got me is they didn't have the keycode for the kepad. So I will have to take it into to Ford and pay the money to have them retrieve the code. Other then that I think I did very well on my purchase. I love the diesel, I am getting 18.2 mpg driving to and from work. On open highway I do even better. I also love the large gas tank because when I find diesel cheap I fill it up and it lasts me awhile.
