Eric, isn't orders usually placed right up to a few months before that model year is done on production?

I'm wanting to square out how long the X will be on the KTP line before the last rolls off.

Having never ordered a new vehicle, I have no idea what is standard for Ford's building process. Thinking about visiting KTP for the last X?

We've never been north of the Red River but want to venture Arkansas,Kentucky,Tennessee and Missouri this summer and KTP would be a great stop but if I recall tours aren't permitted

While you can't just stop by and tour the plant, I think they would allow a group of enthusiasts to tour the plant with enough forewarning and planning. I assume this because before I bought my Excursion I drove Expeditions for 6 years. During that time, I was involved with an Expedition Owners' Group, and one of the guys arranged a group tour of the Michigan Truck Plant, that I attended.

If I recall correctly, there were about 22 of us, we toured the plant while the line was running, got a sneak preview of a new option package (the first factory monochrome Expeditions), and walked away with some parting gifts (a jacket, tee shirt, etc.) courtesy of Ford.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and the people at the plant even filled everyone's vehicle with fuel. My impression was that they were happy to roll out the "Red Carpet" for us, as we were an enthusiasts group, likely to buy Ford again, and a great focus group for likes and dislikes regarding the final product.

Sounds like CHP needs to plan us a club get-together for a tour at KTP!

Only 700 miles from Minneapolis!

I had thrown the idea at the wife since she's a hardcore Excursion owner and mentioned maybe late summer/early fall but with everything happening with her work and my upcoming back/neck surgeries who's to know if we could make it even if the tour was all dialed in

I'm sure it would be one heck of an offical Excursion Club Get together Tour at KTP

What it would be like to be there when the final X rolls off the line

Late summer or early fall? When are they planning to stop production? I'd be interested in a group tour near the end of the production run.
