To my knowledge Clarence the rear axles on the X's are Sterling 10.50 ring geared units.

Excursions have a 10.5" Sterling rearend.
You can buy a "rebuilt kit" for your rearend that will include all necessary parts, etc. Gears and traction differentials (limited slip or locker) are additional. Typically, if you're installing new gears, you'll also get the rebuild kit as well.
This is just strictly referring to the rearend. It doesn't include axles, axle seals or anything else. What are looking to do?

i have a growling noise coming from the rear end. i lifted the rear up and crawled underneath, then started the truck and put it in drive. the growling is coming from the pinion area. i guess it could travel throughout the whole rearend but i think that is where it is coming from. regardless, its a rearend issue. so anyway, i wanted to replace all bearings and seals and thats it. unless of course i have pinion and ring gear problems that arose from bad bearings.
that is the kind of rebuild kit i am looking for.
hey, here is another one. i just got my f350 springs in today and lift blocks for the back. the lift blocks are straight and not tapered. im not sure what the stock ones are but someone before had said that they have to be tapered. is this true? if so then how come the f350 doesn't have to be?
anyway thanks for all the replies so far
