Just got back from a 10 day trip to Florida and kept some notes that I thought ya'll might find interesting. Before I was to leave the cold for the heat I did the following, changed the oil(mobil1),greased the fittings, cleaned and re-oiled the air filter, changed the fuel filter, cleaned the throttle body and ran Lucas fuel cleaner. I also put Lucas in the oil change. So with that all done we had a awesome time. I kept GAS notes, remember my truck is lifted, 12 inch wide tires and a bird cage on the roof and 4.30 gears.I went 2595 miles in 10 days spending $567.22 on regular unleaded.I bought 267.593 gallons of gas for a trip average of 9.69 mpg. Now, before gasping for air i was on cruise control most the time at 80 mph in the center lane and being blasted by all in a hurry!!! Interstate 75 on the west coast in Florida I hit the speed limiter trying to keep up with the fast lane Back to 80 mph and the gas flowed well.
1st fill up, 11.3 mpg md
2nd fill up, 10.3 mpg va, Nc
3rd fill up, 12.5 mpg sc, georgia
4th fill up,9.7 mpg local FL driving
5th fill up,11 mpg georgia
6th fill up, 11.12 mpg NC
7th fill up,11.11 mpg Va
All in all I am happy with the truck and got the mileage that I thought it would get. Cheaper than flying for 5 people. I will fly next time though PS I think the truck loaded with 5 people and loaded with toys and clothes hit the scales around 8500-8600lbs.

Welcome back, Scott!
Road trips are a lot of fun in these rigs. I finally got a hitch-mount bike rack for mine so the wife and I will be taking our bikes along with us during the next trip. Speaking of which, I need to add this to my mod list in my registry entry. WOOHOO!!

Scott, I got a degree in engineering and had lots of math. When I was in school it would have been impossible to average seven numbers between 9.7 and 12.5 and come up with an average of 9.69. Do they teach some different math in MD?

I may have crossed some numbers, they all looked the same after awhile. I will send you my numbers so you can double check my math......See, your never too old to learn I have heard great things about Lucas so I tried it and have no bad things to say about the stuff. I do know the truck started easier since the mini tune up and cleaners.
