Hey everyone, I just got done making a set of kick plates for my doors. I was tired of seeing the paint get all scratched up, soooooo I did something about it. I made them from .032 T-6 aluminum, bent them at a 90* and epoxyed them on-check out the gallery....polished them with 800 then 1500 and some turtle wax chrome polish. I think they came out pretty well considering this was my 1st attempt at anything like this!!

Looks good!
Who's Tiger? A friends looks similar but a cant see the full side profile. I just pulled my AMT home from the Barnaget Bay poker run this past weekend which was the first haul with my new Excursion. The truck did very well.
This comming weekend we are off to the 1000 Islands Poker run and the weekend after that we are going to Lake Champlain.

Thats what I thought. That GL..he's a real pickle smoocher...you can tell him I said so
We will see him on Lake Champlain in a few weeks.
What boat are you running now? Any ideas on what you want to look at? Ill keep my eyes open for you.
My AMT has a pair of 300x's on the back.
If I could figure out how to post pics on here I would put a few up.

Click on "My Garage" on the left-hand side. From there, you will see links for "My Boats" and "My Vehicles" where you can add entries for each. Once created, just click on the corresponding "Album" links and you'll be able to create an album section and post pics.

Nicely done Scott! That's a place I never thought about chrome but I will put that on my list.
Now you need to do a Landyot and start making those things and shipping them out to the masses!

Scott - You could do that. Get a sheet metal shop to quote you some prices for shearing, bending, and maybe punching a couple mounting holes. Then look into getting them polished at another local shop, or think about setting up the polishing operation yourself (warning ... it can get messy). Another option is aluminum diamond-plate. Personally, I'd probably pop-rivet mine in place, but offering stainless steel sheet metal mounting screws with them would also be ideal.
You may have stumbled onto something here ... and you can expand it across the entire SuperDuty line ... 4-door and 2-door. |
