Ken, not only did you forget to remove the luggage rack bars, you've added two more.

Thanks. Yes, Toreador Red with gold trimmings. And there's nothing wrong with silver. My goal was to find an '05 Limited or Eddie Bauer in anything but blue, though I was hoping to find an Estate Green with gold trimmings. I'm happy with the collor ... same color combo my wife had on her 2000 E.B. Explorer.

I hope you recognize that these aren't the crossbars that came standard on the X. These are four Explorer crossbars I modified (widened) to get 'em up off the paint. They were on my '01 Limted. But now that you mention it, my '01 did come with FOUR OEM crossbars (two main bars & two "intermediate" bars), and this '05 only came with TWO.

Is that an EB or Limited?

My EB has different running boards. It also has lights in them.

It's an EB model. Thanks to eBay, I recently acquired an original 2005 Excursion dealership sales brochure. In the "Model-Specific Features & Options" section, it lists the illuminated running boards as standard equipment for both the EB and Limited models. Non-illuminated black running boards were standard on the XLS & XLT models. The chrome tubular running boards ... like mine ... were optional equipment on 4WD XLT, EB & Limted models. After reviewing this list further, it seems the only option my EB doesn't have is the 2nd row captain's chairs. That's OK by me since I prefer the 2nd row bench seat.

Agree 1000% about the second row bench....
both the 02 & 03 Limited Ex's had the second row "captain's"
(I called them (short uncomfortable seats" )
the 05 we have has the bench and it's GREAT and the fold down center arm rest is the best part !!!

and always thought the chrome running boards were the "cheap" option - LOVED the lighted black ones that kept a LOT of the spray off the Ex....

with the misty rain we've had the last week here in dfw the Ex is QUITE ugly

but we NEED the rain ! so I ain't complainin'

2005 6.0L 4x4 Eddie Bauer Ex
2003 6.0L 4x4 Limited Ex - traded in (BooHoo)

She's a beauty! Do you find that you carry a lot of stuff up top?

Will this truck be modded?

What's on the list? Ditch those fugly running steps? I'm sorry Ken...I didn't mean to dis you ride... I had step bars on my 2000.

I always thought the lighted ones were somewhat useless with the placement of the lights. The light placement on the Navigators is SO much better! Two lights in a housing put right in the middle of the board below the B-pillar.
