About the 1962–1965 Ford Fairlane

A Ford Fairlane from the generation archive from the generation archive

The 1962-1965 Ford Fairlane was Ford's first intermediate, a unibody car on a 115.5 inch wheelbase sized between the Falcon and the full-size Galaxie. It introduced the Windsor small-block V8, launching with the 221 in 1962, adding the 260 at mid-year, then the 289 in mid-1963 in a single form, the 271 hp K-code Hi-Po, with a 195 hp 2-barrel 289 following for 1964. In 1964 Ford built 100 Fairlane Thunderbolts, factory lightweight drag cars with the 427 high-riser, and the body was restyled for 1964 and again for 1965.

The story

Car was given to me by a freind whose dad was going to have it hauled to a salvage yard. I rebuilt the carb put on a new coil and batt. Primed it and she started right up. — fordfreak88
