Got a K&N 57-2544 - Filtercharger Injection Performance Kit for $185.99 to my doorstep from StreetSideAuto.com (https://www.streetsideauto.com) in three days! Not sure if it will do anything but keep me off the streets for a day.
Trying to find a chip or tuner (That doesn't cost a fortune.) that I can change the engine, trans, etcetera, settings. I found a lot of sites that said the 1865 Superchips Flashpaq would work with the Crown Vic PI, but the tech guy at Superchips said the PI is programed differently so they never wrote a program for their device for it, to quote:
"From what I have been told we never tuned the Crown Vic with the police package because the calibrations are different than the standard Crown Vic
So we do not have anything that will work on that vehicle."
Wonder how many people have bought it without asking, and if it worked?
Course, the CV PI owner's manual says it's good to go in pursuit mode on regular gas, so who knows.
Trying to figure out if good plugs and high perf coils would help too.
Guess I'd better win the lottery, I'll have more in the car soon, than I paid for it! |

Found Monroes recommended for police 550010 front 550051 heavy duty rear at ClearlyAuto.com (http://www.clearlyauto.com) for $190.40 for the 4 piece set, including shipping. Can't seem to get Monroe to verify if they're they the right ones, guess I'll call on Monday.
Got a class III Curt hitch, light module, lock, and the rest of the stuff coming from and online trailer place that hasn't shipped my order in four days becasue they don't have some window vents I ordered in stock. So, I won't say their name OR what I think of them. Not the first time I've used them or had a problem, so I have no one to blame but myself. I tow a small trailer for scraping, up to about 1,600 pounds on a maxed out load. |

Fresh from the City of Sunrise PD auction! Runs strong ... how did I miss that bad shock when I checked the cars out before the bidding started!?
Cleaning up good, so far. All the decals were off this one (We did a 2001 for my youngest daughter recently that had a LOT of the decals on it, ugh!) and instead of using the $10 cans of areosol adhesive remover, like on our other CV PI, I finally went to the auto paint store and got a quart of 3-M adhesive remover (Like I should have on the other car!) and with that, a course rag, and a small plastic Bondo squeegee, I was done in a jiffy, with NO scratches!
Was going to re-tint the windows and the guy wanted $340! $100 of it is to remove the old tint, could do that myself. Gotta find who does all the cop cars and just use them. At least they should do it right, even if it still costs the same.
Today I turned the heat on and it blew out the windshield defroster vents ... crap! One thing or another!
