The story
This is my grandmothers car from Florida. I bought it for $1 with 54K miles and 0 rust. In fact it has been in Michigan 8 yrs or so and it still has no rust.
I call it my old lady car because it has every creature comfort a retiree could want including a 1/2 roof fake convertible top, which I think was reserved for Mercury? This car was a dealer demo so the candy is plentiful.
A brief list of things I have fixed or added:
- 8 coil packs (over time of course)
- control arms
- mass air flow sensor
- ball joints
- intake manifold
- shocks
- front sway bar links
- tie rod end
- idler arm
- A/C clutch
- battery cable (this really sucked)
- alternator (and 5 Autozone warranty replacements because they are junk from AZ)
- after market bluetooth JVC radio (crutchfield.com rocks)
- brake light switch
My oil change guy, yes I indulge that little piece of maintenance, offers to buy it every time I am there but I've grown to like my "old lady" car. — rss459
