Center Console Build

I always like to start with a good template, they always save time in the end. This one is for the sides Owner They can also help you save material Owner A rough peice, Still needs lots of work Owner Cut both of them out. Test fit, and still more work to get it the way I want it. Owner You can see the drivers side one needs to be adjusted to get it to fit right, and Im not likin the passenger side as is either. Owner The passenger side was to close to the seat belt, and it just didnt follow the lines of the floor Owner Another shot, Im gonna need to use some bondo to get it smooth again for vynal Owner Test fit wit the modifided peices. Still need alot of work. Owner In this one you can see how it kinda follows the tranny hump Owner Finally after lots of adjustments both sides fit how I want them to Owner Its starting to look like something. That piece will be for switches, after more adjustments Owner It has a foot-print very similar to the stock one, accept for the upper part Owner The peice that holds the gauges and back on. Owner I wanted the gauges to be angled towards the driver a bit, so.... Owner This is where the gauges will go Owner Adding a detail peice to the gauge part. when it is on the console this part will help it flow better Owner The big panel and smaller one where the cup holders go. Owner The last of the difficult peices is on. Although there is still LOTS more to do Owner Starting to fill out a little. Also, there are a few gaps, but I will smooth the whole thing out with bondo before it gets the vynal. Owner Found the other 3 switches, and cleaned up the aluminum Owner Routed out the center section free-hand, ya took a while Owner Chisled out the corners, and decided to scew the indiviual holes and cut a rectangle. Owner Once it is vynaled it will look nice, all inset and what not. Owner Did the same thing to the gauge holder Owner Made the aluminum thingy for it. Owner After 3 tries I finally got the aluminum done for the other side, some of those angles were tricky. Owner Putty'd the carp out of the TV area, at 6 bucks for a big can it sure is cheaper than fiber-glass. Owner Filled the last gap in the back to keep everything together for vynal, which is gonna be soon! YAY! The back is the only piece that will use the mock up holes from… Owner Driver side done. Owner Attaching the aluminum trim, which also holds the vynal tight and creates a cleaner looking seam. Owner This is how I will attach the rest of the pieces. Owner This pis shows the little brackets I used to hold it together. They are just angle iron cut up with holes drilled in it. Owner Yet another test fit, revealing yet another adjustment. Owner Another view. Owner Part of the gauge holder hit the dash and broke off, had to sand it a bit and paint it. All better after it dries. Owner This piece has proved to be a HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS. re-doin it AGAIN...AHHHHHH Owner Some of the wiring. Owner More wires Owner Orignally I was gonna use a 8awg for the grounf, but after looking at this mess I think we are gonna step up to 4awg. Owner This is where the power will coem in, again originally 8awg may switch to 4awg havent decided. Owner All three guages installed and working. Owner After fighting this piece 3 times, I finally got it to come out how i wanted it. Owner The insert that will some day have some kind of symbol on it....no money right now. Owner On goes the vynal Owner Trimed up and ready to go in. Owner Put the divder and bottem on. Now i can finish some more of the wiring. Owner Got some more of the wiring done, and about half of the fuse block wired. Owner Also got the Wig-Wags wired, can't wait for that fun! Owner Fuse panel pretty much done. Owner Got mpre wiring done, this is one of the connectors that will link the console to the B'co Owner 99% of the wiring is done....to many wires Owner Inside compartment all painted, again with pickup truck bed liner. Just can't get enough of that stuff. Owner All the wiring done, accept for the main power connections and the TV Owner All of the wires from the engine compartment are run. Interior next. Owner Got the bezzel for the TV to fit where it needs to go. it was slightly bigger than the hole so i will have to putty it and paint again. Owner All puttied and re-painted, ready for the TV Owner TV is in, not much more to do. Owner Power wires in Owner The DVD player was gonna go under the seat but it didnt fit. So... Owner DVD player installed Owner Pretty much all done accept for the lid, dunno if i like this one.
